What every Youth Pastor hates to hear
5 things every youth pastor hates to hear from his/her assistant
1. I don't know Never say it. Do everything you can, check every resource you have before you say, I don't know. There's nothing worse than your boss asking if you checked everything and you have to say no.
2. There's a problem and I don't know what to do. Never tell the problem without two or three possible solutions. Let him/her choose what solution is best.
3. I forgot. Never allow this to come out of your mouth. How? Always write everything down, big or small, in your planner. When it is written in your planner there is no way you will forget.
4. I can't. If you can't, it is your job to find someone who can or you learn how to do it. No matter how crazy things sound that you are asked to do, don't say I can't. Do everything possible to make things happen.
5. I don't have time. First of all you work for him/her, he/she doesn't work for you! Sometimes in ministry you will have to sacrifice personal things to make time for the work of the ministry.
Of course there is a balance to every situation. Just remember, your job is to make your Sr. Pastor or Youth Pastor look good!
