DANGEROUS ADVENTURE

Shackelton, the great explorer, asked for volunteers for his South Pole expedition.

He promised the men danger, disease and death. To his utter amazement, he was flooded with letters from volunteers.

The Lord Jesus calls for volunteers. He doesn't offer a rocking chair, but a rugged cross; not a life of calmness, but of combat; not a life of pleasure, but of persecution.

He's looking for men and women who are willing to sacrifice safety and security, liberty and life.

He says, "If anyone wants to be a follower of Mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me."

Do you want to follow Him?

Prayer: Deepen our love for Thee, Lord Jesus, so that we will put Thee first in our lives. Inspire us to think about ways to follow Thee more closely and to serve Thee more faithfully: in Thy name. Amen.
